Deleting conversations
Users with the Delete permission can remove conversations from MiaRec. Deleting removes the conversation with its audio and analysis results.
Warning
Deletion is protected only by a short undo window. If your organization must keep certain conversations, protect them with the Do-Not-Delete flag described below.
Deleting from the list
- On the Conversations list, select the conversation(s) to delete.
- Click the Delete button on the toolbar.
The conversations are deleted immediately — there is no confirmation dialog. A message appears with an UNDO link that restores the deleted conversations; the link is available for about 45 seconds.
Deleting a single conversation
On the conversation detail page, open the action menu next to Export to PDF and select Delete Call. The same undo message applies.
The Do-Not-Delete flag
The Do-Not-Delete flag protects a conversation from deletion:
- It cannot be deleted manually — the delete actions skip flagged conversations, and the Delete Call menu entry disappears on a flagged conversation.
- Automatic retention cleanup skips it: when aged conversations are purged under your organization's retention policy, flagged conversations are kept. See Retention in the Administration Guide.
Flagged conversations show a Do not delete label on the detail page and an icon in the list.
To set or clear the flag:
- In bulk: select conversations on the list and use More › Set Do-Not-Delete flag or Clear Do-Not-Delete flag.
- For one conversation: use the same entries in the detail page's action menu.
Note
Setting and clearing the Do-Not-Delete flag each require their own permission on your role.
