Audit trail
The audit trail is your organization's activity log: who signed in, who played or downloaded a recording, what was created, changed, or deleted, and when. Open it under Administration › Audit Trail.
What is recorded
Audit records cover, among other things:
- Sign-ins and sign-outs, including failed sign-in attempts and new-device sign-ins.
- Playback and download of recordings — each playback start is logged with the conversation's details.
- Create, update, and delete operations on records: users, roles, groups, settings, scorecards, tags, notes, and more.
- Password changes, encryption-key access grants and revocations, and job runs.
Each record shows the date, the initiator (the user who performed the action), the resource affected, and the action with its details. Click View on a record to see everything captured for it, including the data that changed.
Filtering the log
The All Audit Log tab offers quick filters:
- A date range and a user or group picker.
- Search in DATA — free-text search inside the recorded details.
- Filter by Resource and Filter by Action — limit the log to a resource type (for example users) or an action (for example playback).
The Advanced Search tab combines criteria — date, resource, action, initiator, client IP address, application, related record ID, and data text — for precise questions such as "who downloaded recordings from this IP range last month".
Managed by your service provider
How long audit records are kept is configured by your service provider.
From log to report
For recurring compliance questions, use the audit report types instead of reading the log manually — see Audit reports. Reports can be scheduled and delivered by email.
