Screen recording operations
Screen recording captures the agent's desktop alongside the audio of a conversation. The operator-side pieces live under Administration › Screen Recording: system settings, the recordings list, workstation authorization, session monitoring, the screen-recording server registry, and three file-maintenance jobs. Client installation and end-to-end setup are covered by the dedicated Screen Recording Administration Guide; the customer-facing summary is Screen recording in the Administration Guide.
Screen Recording Settings
Screen Recording Settings holds the system-wide configuration:
- Controller — the TCP port clients connect to, an optional TLS port with SSL key/certificate/CA files, and client trace-log settings.
- Capture — capture rate (0.25–8 fps), multi-monitor support (primary monitor only or all monitors), maximum image width/height, and video bitrate.
- Recording behavior — wrap-up time (how long capture continues after the conversation ends) and maximum recording duration.
- Upload — the upload recordings URL clients post to, the storage target, the video file name format, and the upload chunk size.
Licensing
Screen recording is licensed separately:
- The Screen Recording License page (Administration › Licensing › Screen Recording License) shows the license and the registered screen-recording module instances (instance, location, version, status) — see License keys.
- Per-tenant screen recording is switched on the tenant page, and SCR seats are assigned per user; usage appears in License usage.
Day-to-day operations
- Screen Recordings — the cross-tenant list of captured screen recordings, with advanced search.
- Client Workstations — the registry of capture clients with authorization filters Authorized, Pending, and Forbidden; new workstations wait in Pending until you Authorize (or Forbid) them. Deleting a workstation removes its registration.
- Client Sessions — current and past client connections, for verifying that a workstation is online and uploading.
- Recording Servers — the screen-recording module registry (the servers that receive and process uploads), with per-server settings views and overrides, like the audio recorder servers registry.
File-maintenance jobs
Three job types manage screen-recording files; they are reached from the Screen Recording menu (not the jobs catalog) but behave like any other job in the jobs console:
| Job | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Export Screen Recordings | Copy screen-recording files to a storage target for backup or handoff. |
| Import Screen Recordings | Ingest screen-recording files from a storage target. |
| Relocate Screen Recordings | Move files between storage targets, for example onto cheaper storage. |
Screen recordings are also covered by per-tenant storage limits (screen size/minutes/days quotas) and retention — see Storage limits and Retention and bulk delete.
